In these years, Computer network
security
plays an important role in the Information System field. The computer
networks in organizations throughout the world are facing the threats
of being attacked by Hackers or Malicious softwares everyday.
Futhermore, Computer Virus, Spywares and Junk Mails have been causing
a big trouble to the network users. To defend against these harmful
things, you may need to set up different equipment and applications in
your network. Then, there may be at least 4 to 5 different kinds of
equipment for protecting against different attacks. Imaging that
how good it is to have an equipment, which can provide all the
functionalities mentioned above! It will be convenient, time-saving and
ease for management.
CPTTM held a workshop named "Using an all-in-one security applicance to
secure your organization's network in three hours" on 23 August , 2005
from 14:30 to 17:30 at CyberLab. In this workshop, the first part will
talk about some concepts and technologies about network security and
then, there will be a hands-on practice on configuring an existing
all-in-one security applicance to implement the above mentioned network
security functions, so that you can evaluate the applicability of that
applicance to your company or organization.
The main speaker of this workshop is Mr. Andrew Stevens, the Senior
Product Marketing Manager of Secure Computing Corporation. He possesses
a degree in Business Information Systems from Algonquin College in
Canada and has worked in computer networking field for more than 16

security while he also presents to some international computer network
