Objective Nowadays, many students are engaged and wasting a lot of time on the computer games and animations . The objective of this course is to let the students from indulging in the interest of computer animation to motivity the learning in computer knowledge. Thus, triggering their creativity, imagination and their interest on computer technology, they will be able to make their own computer games.

On completion, the students will be able to create interesting interactive computer animation. Click to see the projects of the passed students.

Content
  • Installing MIT Scratch
  • Create the animation using the already-made cartoon image
  • Colour effect
  • Sound effect: play an already-made sound file or record your own.
  • Animation effect: for example, make a cartoon image to move around the mouse pointer, or make a cartoon image to chase one another, or use the keyboard to control a cartoon’s direction and speed of movement, or make a cartoon image to free fall from some point, and to bounce back when hitting another image.
  • sharing your projects on the web
The students will be required to work for 2-3 hours on assignments at home after each session. There will be a final project at the end.
Assessment
  • The average mark for all the assignments is at least 60.
  • Project is at least 60.
Target audience Teenagers (from Form 3 to junior high) who would like to create computer Animation. Priority will be given to those aged 8-15.

Schedule 09:15-11:15, from Nov 23, 2008 to Jan 4, 2009 every Sunday, excluding Dec 21, 2008.
Fee MOP450. Those who pass the assessments and whose attendance is 80% or greater will be reimbursed 75% of the fee; Those who fail in the assessments but whose attendence is 80% or greater will be reimbursed 50% of the fee; Those who pass the assessments but whose attendance is 50% or greater but less than 80% will be reimbursed 50% of the fee.

Certificate Qualification Certificate issued by CPTTM (for students who have attained at least 80% attendance and passed all assessments).

  • This course is included under the "Training Scheme for Human Resources Upgarding". For details, please refer to the Scheme pamphlet.
  • Students will be required to work at home for 1 hours every week.
  • The project topic can be decided by student, and must use Scratch to do .
  • Students who join this course will automatically grant the right to CPTTM for using their assignments and final projects as course promotion purpose.
